Dr. Abu Jamil Faisel, MBBS, DPM, MPH 

Dr. Faisel is a public health physician, an active public health practitioner/activist with more than 43 years of diverse experience in Family Planning and contraceptive use, reproductive & sexual health, SRHR rights, Essential Services Package delivery program, infectious diseases like TB and COVID-19, and improving quality of services in Bangladesh. During his career he has dedicated 29 years in strategic program planning, management, policy making, politics of donor funding, working with public, private and NGO counterparts to improve the quality of and access to services and information and transfer of skills and technology to the counterparts. Using his research skills, he was responsible for the introduction of implant as a new contraceptive method in Bangladesh. Since 2004 started working as a teacher in different private and public Universities. To his credit he has more than two dozen peer reviewed articles. He is a Member of the National Population Council headed by the Prime Minister and since 28 March 2020 has been appointed as a Public Health Expert Advisor, DGHS, MOHFW.
