Prof. Dr. Anower Hussain: Biography

Prof. Dr. Md. Anower Hussain, DDS, MPH, PhD
A public health activist of the country has more than 25 years’ experience of teaching health sciences in different institutes and Universities in home and abroad. Currently Prof. Anower is working as the Dean, Faculty of Public Health, Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Guest Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Science, North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Visiting Professor, Dept. of Public Health, National Cheng kung University, Taiwan. He studied Pharmacology (PhD) at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan and worked as post-doctoral fellow at Indiana University, USA. He attended many international seminars as presenter and session chair including India, Nepal, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, USA and Australia. Prof. Anower is the Secretary General of Public Health Association of Bangladesh (PHAB) and involved in activities focusing on awareness building among common people to fight COVID-19 pandemic in Bangladesh. He is an active member of many professional bodies including USA based World Emergency COVID19 Pandemic Ethics (WeCope) Committee which comprises of a multidisciplinary group of people from a variety of professional and cross-cultural background and is independent of government.
